Wall Paper Removal

Removing wallpaper can be straightforward or tricky, depending on how it was applied. If it’s on a painted surface, removal is easier. If it’s on bare drywall, there’s more risk of damage.

Most wallpaper has two layers: a top layer that usually peels off first and a glue layer underneath. We thoroughly soak the wallpaper with hot water using a sponge, rags, or a roller and tray and let it sit so the adhesive softens. Letting the water soak in for a while makes a big difference.

After the top layer is removed, we use putty knives to scrape off the glue layer. Sometimes a mild fabric cleaner or a bit of soap can help as well. We protect floors with plastic and cover outlets before applying any water.

Once the wallpaper is gone, we handle any minor wall repairs to ensure a smooth surface for painting.
